- As we know the south was a rough place to live in who Jim Crow Laws were established. why did it seem so eager for people especially African Americans to leave the south not knowing that in some parts of the north were similar to the way there were living in the south? Was were some similarities and differences in the living conditions?
- While reading this I had the sense of another “Slave” movement. by saying this families were being broken apart again. is it fair to say that the great migration to the north and the west was another slave movement but this time African Americans were free?
- Were people happy when they were leaving or were there some doubts in their minds that the rest of the world was the same? Many of these people were leaving the south for the first time but have only heard of the places they were headed to.
